Struggling with expensive building construction costs? Consider Sheltent's Air Dome buildings, which cost much less than traditional structures. Air domes are large and clear-span structures covered by one or more layers of PVDF membranes anchored to the ground. It balances internal and external pressures to maintain stability by compressing the air inside.

Ease of Installation
Because of the lightweight and inflatability, our air domes are easy to transport, install and dismantle. They do not require much site work such as concrete surface preparation, frame construction, etc. This greatly reduces the pre-construction preparation and construction time.
Energy Saving
Compared to traditional buildings, air domes save 10-20% of energy. We choose special air membrane materials with good thermal insulation. This helps maintain the interior temperature and reduces the need for heating or cooling.
Clear Span Structure
Air domes use a clear span structure with no columns inside, providing a wide open space. The flexible interior layout allows for various sports, such as basketball, football, etc., and is widely used in gymnasiums.
Safe and reliable
The air dome structure complies with safety standards and regulations, withstanding extreme weather conditions from -55°C to +70°C, such as strong winds, heavy snow, storms, etc.
Optional Options
Sheltent offers customizable options for air domes, including lighting, air conditioning, temperature control, steel cable harness systems, and more. You can choose air domes of different sizes and configurations to suit your actual needs.

PVDF Membrane
High Strength Membrane System
  • It supports the membrane surface by the difference in internal and external air pressure.
  • It relies primarily on fans to continuously blow air into space to complement internal pressure so that the membrane structure maintains its designed shape.
  • It does not require frames or beams to support it, but it must be airtight to keep the indoor air pressure slightly higher than the external one.
  • In the event of high winds or heavy snow, the internal air pressure can be adjusted to increase resistance to external pressure. It is often used in large venues such as stadiums.

PVDF Membrane
High Strength Membrane System
  • It is composed of multiple air pillow units that are closed with high-pressure gas.
  • The structure bears the load through the difference in air pressure inside and outside each air pillow unit.
  • It typically provides good thermal insulation and heat insulation performance.

Smart Air Dome System

Steel Cable Harness System
The surface of the membrane can be covered with a cable network connected to the dome foundation, which can reduce the membrane's load. It also improves the membrane's wind resistance of up to 150 mph and snow resistance of 50 psf snow load.
Anchor System
Due to the upward force of the air inside the air dome and the force generated by the wind on the surface, the air dome must be firmly anchored to the ground. The anchoring system constructs the dome foundation and withstands the pressure applied to the dome.
Intelligent Control System
It can help you check the operating status of the air dome at any time and ensure its safety by remote intelligent control in your phone or computer.
Intelligent Detection System
The sensor control can detect the air pressure inside the dome. When the internal air pressure exceeds the set value, the pressure relief valve automatically opens to relieve the pressure.
Powered Inflation System
Sheltent provides air blower equipment that can continuously pump air into the structure so that the internal air pressure is slightly higher than the external air pressure to maintain the dome shape.
HAVC System
Due to the internal airtight of some structures, the air dome needs to be equipped with air conditioning, ventilation, and temperature control to maintain indoor comfort.

How Do Air Domes Work

Air Pressure
The top of the air dome is filled with air at a high pressure. The forces on the membrane support the PVDF fabric in maintaining its shape and bear loading.
Air Tightness
For air-supported domes, airtightness ensures that the internal air pressure is slightly higher than the external air pressure.
Frames
For the other three membrane structures, components such as beams, arches, or air pillows bear the internal air pressure to maintain shape and stability. As long as the membrane is not damaged, it can maintain its shape by itself.
Anchoring
A good anchoring system can counteract the strong upward force generated by the internal air. It prevents the dome from moving or causing accidents in high winds.
Why Choose Sheltent Air Dome?
Sheltent has been selling air domes to more than 60 nations with its state-of-the-art technology and nearly ten years of industry experience. Over 100,000 users utilize our space solution globally, primarily from the USA, Russia, Australia, Japan, and other countries. It all starts with communicating your needs. We will present the design in the form of drawings, videos, photos, etc., according to your specific requirements. In terms of safety, Sheltent provides structural reports on wind loads and snow loads for building permits. If installation assistance is required, we also provide detailed guides and even assign professional and skilled personnel to install the air dome on site.
